Terms of use
Effective from 29 September 2026 · version 4.0
1. Operator and contact
The Osmičky service at ws.datanius.com (the “service”) is operated by Datanius s.r.o., Dandova 2619/13, 193 00 Prague 9 – Horní Počernice, Czech Republic, Company No.: 30066786, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague (Městský soud v Praze), section C, file 456770 (the “operator”). Contact: hello@datanius.com. By using the service you agree to these terms; if you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service and the licence to generated content
The service lets you generate word search puzzles with a hidden message (the tajnička) free of charge, play them online, store your own dictionaries and puzzles, play the Hádaj game, share challenges and have a generated puzzle sent by e-mail. Generated puzzles are output of the operator's service. The operator grants you a royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide licence to use them for any purpose — personal, educational or commercial — including reproduction, modification, publication and distribution in print or electronic form. Attribution is appreciated but not required. The words and texts you enter into the generator remain yours.
3. User account
Registration is free and optional; most features work without an account. The account stores your dictionaries, puzzles and results across devices. You must provide truthful information when registering. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secret and for activity carried out through your account. If you are under 16, you need the consent of a legal guardian to register. You may cancel your account at any time by writing to the contact e-mail; cancellation includes erasure of personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. The operator may block or cancel an account in case of a material breach of these terms.
4. User content and publishing
You are responsible for the words, titles, dictionaries and other content you enter. Content must not breach the law, third-party rights or good morals; offensive, discriminatory, vulgar or child-inappropriate content is prohibited in particular (the service is used by schools). Every saved puzzle is private by default. Only its author decides whether to publish it in the gallery or share it by link, and only as a signed-in user; puzzles created without signing in are stored only on your device and cannot be published. You can unpublish at any time. By publishing content (a public puzzle, a public dictionary) you grant the operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to make it available to other users within the service. The operator may remove inappropriate content without compensation.
5. Acceptable use
It is prohibited to: interfere with or bypass the security and technical measures of the service, overload it with automated requests, impersonate another person, manipulate leaderboards, harvest other users' data, or use the service to send unsolicited messages. The operator may restrict access to the service in case of a breach of these rules.
6. Intellectual property
The software, design, logos and name of the service are protected by rights of the operator or its licensors. These terms give you no right to use them beyond ordinary use of the service. The broad licence to generated puzzles under section 2 is unaffected.
7. Newsletter and notifications
Receiving news by e-mail requires your separate, voluntary consent and you may withdraw it at any time — with a single click in every e-mail or by writing to the contact e-mail. Browser push notifications are tied to the permission you grant your browser; you can turn them off at any time in your browser or device settings.
8. Availability and changes to the service
The service is provided free of charge and “as is”. The operator does not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may change, suspend or discontinue the service or its parts. Before discontinuing features that store your data, the operator will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance so you can download your data.
9. Liability
The operator is liable for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damage arising from the use of the free service, temporary unavailability, loss of data stored locally in your browser, or content submitted by users. Nothing in these terms limits the rights granted to you as a consumer by mandatory legal provisions.
10. Dispute resolution
If you are a consumer and are not satisfied with how your request was handled, you have the right to turn to an alternative dispute resolution body — for an operator seated in the Czech Republic that is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (www.coi.cz) — or to submit a complaint via the EU online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
11. Changes to these terms
The operator may reasonably amend these terms, in particular when the service's features or the law change. The new version with its effective date is published on this page; registered users are notified in advance of material changes. By continuing to use the service after changes take effect, you accept them.
12. Final provisions
These terms and the relations arising from them are governed by the law of the Czech Republic; consumers retain the rights granted to them by the mandatory provisions of the state of their habitual residence. If any provision proves invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force. The processing of personal data is governed by the separate Privacy Policy (/sukromie), which forms part of these terms.
